PvP in SWTOR

Although I have yet to experience PvP in Star Wars the Old Republic first-hand, I've been watching as a friend competes in PvP matches, and am not impressed. Neither is he.

The battle wasn't so bad (for him) when he first started--his randomly game-selected companions ranged between lvl 11 and lvl 17. At level 27, he was a god amongst men. Given that the initial enemy players were a max of level 13, my friend's team did extraordinarily well. That is, until all the enemies quit. More joined, and suddenly my friend's team was at the disadvantage, with a lvl 37 joining the enemies, and a major lag spike kicking in. Suffice it to say, PvP in SWTOR is broken, unbalanced, and Not Fun.

The game seems perfectly willing to throw terribly mis-matched players at one another. Why is a lvl 11 in with a lvl 37? This should not happen! In a game where many skills are learned at later levels (as opposed to having just a few skills increase in power with level) you have an insurmountable barrier for low-levels attempting to defeat higher levels, even if the skills did happen to scale to an even level.

In a game with a skill system like The Old Republic, PvP matches should probably be limited to players within 5 levels of each other, just to keep things fair. Otherwise you're going to see a ton of rage-quits during matches when one player feels completely outclassed by others because of level discrepancy.

This must be addressed in order to make PvP more accessible and more fun for SWTOR's players.
