I'm Heroic! Who says I'm not?

So I tried the City of Heroes trial again for like the fourth time over the game's life, and I finally took the bait and subscribed. I've been playing a tank which isn't my usual role in games--more often than not I find myself in a support-only role. But I've been enjoying the experience for the most part. The game is a lot of fun, despite the fact that it is clearly showing its age, and has a lot of bugs for a game that seems to be entering the "maintenance" stage of its lifespan. Enough to be an absolutely frustrating experience at times.

Everyone I know who has played CoH is overwhelmed at the sheer number of options available for customizing their heroes. I, myself have created 4 heroes and a villian in the last couple of weeks, and I know I'll create more. I'm also looking forward to level 50 when I unlock two new class options.

There are a lot of activities in which to participate, and usually these are more fun than the actual missions. A buddy of mine and I have spent several evenings just finding tall structures and jumping from them. I picked up the "Recall Friend" skill just so I can teleport him back to the top of the structure before he hits the ground while we're basejumping. It's hella fun. Earlier tonight we just toured Paragon City, seeing the sights and picking up Exploration badges.

On the EVE Online battlefront, I finally learned the battleships skill and have been thoroughly enjoying my new big ships. I posted a couple of screenies of my Hyperion in the EVE gallery. I even ventured into low-sec space for the first time and was almost immediately attacked by pirates, demanding a 30 million ISK fee to allow me to leave the system they had claimed. Let's just say that while that's just chump change to me now, I refuse to pay off pirates, so I had to sneak out of the system. It's part of the spice of life in EVE. Our corporation has also been growing, which is a very good thing. It's good to meet new people and participate in helping them learn the ins and outs of the massive EVE universe.

Tantel actually met one of our recruits when the guy shot at him in high-security space. Since he was a newbie, he didn't realize that hi-sec isn't the place to be shooting other players, and before Tantel could even arm his weapons, Concord had warped in and destroyed the newbie's ship. From there they got to talking, & Tantel shared his immense knowledge of EVE with the guy, helping him climb up the steep learning cliff. Rule 1: Don't shoot players in hi-sec! haha Not everyone's as nice as Tantel (who not only helped educate the guy in how to play EVE, but also kindly replaced the guy's ship & gave him some credits to get his EVE life started). Good stuff.

I've uploaded some more images to the EVE Online Gallery and started the City of Heroes Gallery. Enjoy!
