Ambulation, Walking in Stations, Incarna

So many names, so few mentions of a release date. How I long for this long-overdue feature of EVE Online to come to fruition. It seems that WiS has a new name, a new official name, Incarna (incarnation, I suppose). It has been reported that Incarna will come after the winter expansion Dominion and before the new EVE game Dust 514. Dominion will be coming in this fall/winter and Dust 514 will reportedly be released sometime in 2010. One would logically conclude that Incarna will become the Spring 2010 expansion, putting it around March-May. Though there is still no confirmed date.

With the revelation of Dust 514 (EVE Universe FPS primarily being targeted for consoles) we've learned of a few new features planned for Incarna, pod pilots will be instrumental in focusing and directing the "Dusters" in the Dust 514 ground war. This will also apparently tie into the new Sovereignty system due in Dominion this winter. Players will be able to give strategic commands from space, to troops on the ground, though no direct communication will be available (i.e. chat), there will however be communication through the new COSMOS social networking system to be added to EVE and Dust. Interesting indeed.

No details yet about subscriptions, or requirements for playing Dust, hopefully you're current subscription to EVE will suffice for both, and they'll be able to get around the Xbox live gold membership level much like FF11 was able to. I'm counting down the days until I re-sub to EVE...
